Where were you before you founded your own company?

Slaving away in corporate America, flying from Las Vegas to Houston to Palm Desert and basically earning a crash course MBA in marketing from my employer, Sunrise Colony Company, via experience. I was overseeing countless ad agencies and PR firms in three different states as well as participating in the acquisitions team. It was an amazing time, full of adrenaline and very little sleep.

How did you decide to hang your own sign?

It happened quite unintentionally. In 2003, I started out helping colleague from my previous position and intended to just enjoy the low pressure, high profile work, but, then it was time to get paid. One of my clients called and told me that he would only be able to pay me if I had a tax id #. And…so…within 24 hours, I was incorporated and here we are.

What is the most satisfying part of your work?

Hands down – helping companies reach their goals. There is nothing more satisfying and it keeps me interested and enthusiastic.

What do you think is the most impactful marketing campaign of your time?

I haven’t analyzed this question well enough to answer with statistics, but, I often find myself humming the song from the Coca Cola campaign, “it’s the real thing.” And I think that was released when I was just a tadpole, so…that left an impression.

What inspires you most?

Smiling children –anywhere.

Who inspires you most right now?

Mother Teresa is always at the top of the list for her selflessness.
At the other end of the spectrum, I’m totally and completely taken with Keith Richards after having read, Life. I suppose that the utter insanity of his life while touring as a part of the Rolling Stones is so foreign to me that it is fascinating. His intensity during that time is remarkable.
